What is HMPV?
Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a respiratory virus that infects people of all ages, causing illnesses ranging from mild cold-like symptoms to severe respiratory issues such as pneumonia.
Symptoms
- Mild Symptoms: Runny nose, cough, sore throat, mild fever, and fatigue.
- Severe Symptoms: Difficulty breathing, wheezing, high fever, and chest congestion.
How Does HMPV Spread?
HMPV spreads through respiratory droplets, direct contact, and contaminated surfaces. Crowded places, such as schools and nursing homes, are common hotspots for outbreaks.
